Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - Bahamas Film Studio

Of the Bahamas’ 700 unspoiled islands, few feature in as many films as the Grand Bahama due to the island’s open-water filming facility, which is among the largest of its kind in the world. The Bahamas Film Studio hosted the production of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, conjuring an enchanted setting with its electric blue waters, powder-like white-sanded beaches, and lush tropical flora. It is said that, while filming Pirates of the Caribbean, actor Johnny Depp was so taken with the region’s natural beauty that he purchased a 45-acre island in the Bahamas called Little Halls Pond Cay.
