Calypso is a rare Feadship motor yacht for sale and charter that carries a rich history. Designed by H.W. de Voogt and launched in 1978, she reflects the grace and proportion of a golden era of Dutch yacht building, now paired with the confidence of a full, multi-million-dollar refit completed in 2025. Offered for both charter and sale, Calypso presents a compelling opportunity to own a heritage yacht that feels thoroughly current, operationally sound, and charter ready.
Her story is exceptional. Originally commissioned by E. Clayton Gengras and later owned by Malcolm Forbes, Calypso hosted statesmen, royalty, and cultural icons, before serving as a platform for National Geographic expeditions. Today, she emerges renewed, with her classic lines preserved and every technical and guest-facing system rebuilt to modern standards.

On Board
The upper deck is Calypso’s defining social space. A new raised Jacuzzi, sun loungers, and a twelve-seat dining table are arranged around a central bar wrapped elegantly around the mast. A 120-inch cinema screen transforms the deck after dark, while flexible shading allows the space to adapt throughout the day
On Board
On the main deck aft, a sheltered cockpit provides a second dining option, well suited to cruising or protected anchorages. Forward, the yacht’s clean exterior lines remain untouched, now finished in a Flag Blue hull that sharpens her silhouette without altering her character.
On Board
Her most recent refit represents the culmination of a decade-long renewal programme, ensuring that beneath her classic profile lies a yacht that performs, functions, and feels like new. Inside, Calypso retains the charm of a classic Feadship interior, with restored teak panelling and a calm, understated atmosphere. Subtle updates to lighting, textiles, and finishes bring a lighter tone, while preserving the integrity of the original joinery.
Accommodation
Accommodation
Calypso accommodates up to 11 guests in five en suite cabins, with an optional additional single cabin currently configured for crew use. The layout includes a full-beam master suite on the main deck with a walk-around king bed, a full-beam VIP, two queen cabins, and a twin with a Pullman berth.
All cabins have been refreshed with new carpets, soft goods, overheads, and restored stone and wood finishes. The result is a beautiful, cohesive accommodation plan that works equally well for private ownership or charter.
