My Story

Growing up in the middle of the Netherlands, I was surrounded by water. From a young age, I was always interested in water sports and the sea. It probably started when I went fishing with my dad. Since I had no patience, made too much noise, and scared all the fish away, we decided to try fishing for pike instead. As competitive as we are, I’m proud to say I still hold the record for the biggest catch!

Over time, I developed a passion for diving. Having dived in all the Dutch Antilles, I can say that being underwater is a truly special experience. The complete isolation from the outside world and the surprise of every dive make each moment unforgettable.

Inspired by my family’s background in yachting, I completed an internship at a large management firm in the USA. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree, I started my career in sales before combining my passion for the sea and water at Y.CO.
