My Story

I’ve worked in yachting since leaving university, starting out on board before moving ashore into yacht agency and concierge, and later specialising in charter management.

That background has given me a broad view of how a yacht really works. I’ve seen things from the crew side, the shipyard side and the management side, and I think that makes a real difference when you’re representing an owner and trying to keep everything moving in the right direction.

For me, charter management is very much a people business. Owners, captains, crew, brokers, agents, suppliers and our own teams all play a part, and the best results usually come when everyone is communicating well and working towards the same end goal.

I’ve now spent more than a decade representing yachts from 30 to 90 metres, from new builds to classic yachts. What I enjoy most is bringing all those different people and moving parts together and finding the best way forward for the yacht and the owner.

Beyond yachting

Growing up in West Wales, speaking Welsh as my first language and later spending time living in France taught me to appreciate different cultures, perspectives and ways of life.

I’ve always loved travelling and discovering new places, especially through their food, history and culture. I’m happiest by the coast or in the countryside, and I try to spend as much time in nature as I can.

I also have a keen interest in interiors and design, including a slightly niche fascination with chair design. I practise Pilates, love long walks and really value time with friends and family.

A good outcome is when I deliver the brief. A great outcome is when I manage to exceed expectations.

Vietnam. Specifically for a Vietnamese green papaya prawn salad.

WHAT’S BEEN MY MOST VALUABLE LESSON FROM WORKING IN YACHTING?

Teamwork always wins, both at work and in life. Every contribution is valuable and you can’t do it all alone.

Yachting is built on collaboration, so share information, seek advice and learn from those around you. There is always something new to discover, or a different approach that might lead to a better solution.
