My Story

I help owners make confident decisions about one of the most misunderstood parts of yacht ownership. Insurance is often seen as a cost line, but I've spent more than 15 years in the superyacht insurance industry and know how much difference the right cover, the right broker and the right insurer can make when something unexpected happens. I tend to look beyond the headline figures and focus on the details hidden underneath, because that's usually where the real story is.

Growing up in Singapore and later making France my second home taught me to adapt quickly, communicate clearly and see things from different perspectives. Whether I'm supporting a new build, helping a yacht plan a remote cruising itinerary or guiding crew through a medical claim, my role is often the same: to make something complex feel straightforward and give people the confidence that they're properly looked after.

Beyond Yachting

I’m naturally optimistic and approachable, which is probably helpful given the subject I work in. I like people, I like conversation, and I’m happiest when things feel relaxed rather than overcomplicated.

Outside work, I enjoy entertaining at home, and it gives me joy to bring friends together for a few laughs over drinks and food. I try to live by the mantra “Enjoy the little things in life”.

SOMETHING I AM SLIGHTLY OBSESSIVE ABOUT?

Details! It’s probably an occupational hazard, but I notice them everywhere, even when I’m not trying to. Useful at work. Slightly less useful when I’m trying to switch off.

WHAT DO I ENJOY MOST ABOUT MY ROLE?

What I enjoy most is the opportunity to combine insurance expertise and personal service to make a real difference for our clients. Working closely with brokers and underwriters to secure the best possible outcome for our clients is particularly rewarding, especially when we're able to deliver positive claim results. I also enjoy visiting our managed yachts and spending time with crew onboard, helping me better understand their operations and ensuring our advice remains relevant.

Beyond the day-to-day aspects of my role, I’m privileged to serve on Y.CO’s Maritime Board, helping oversee the strategic direction of our wider Yacht Management operations.

WHAT’S IN MY SUITCASE?

Too much! Sunscreen (always!), perfume, lip balm, bedroom slippers, sunglasses, a cap, a water bottle, at least two pairs of shoes and far too many clothes. Please do not ask me to travel with an overnight bag or hand luggage only.

WHAT HAS EXPERIENCE TAUGHT ME TO SPOT EARLY?

That the devil really is in the detail. Insurance propositions can sometimes look very attractive on price, but coverage should always come first. The cheapest option is rarely the best one if it leaves you exposed when you actually need to make a claim.

WHAT MATTERS MORE THAN PEOPLE REALISE?

Having the right people to support you. Nothing on a yacht really happens in isolation. A technical issue can become a safety issue, which can then affect insurance. Having specialists who know their area, and who actually talk to each other, makes a huge difference.

WHAT FOOD OR DESTINATION WOULD I HAPPILY TRAVEL FOR?

Singapore. I’ve lived in France for more than 15 years and very much think of it as home, but I still love going back to Singapore. And yes, the food is a very good part of the reason.
