My Story

I’ve spent more than 18 years in the maritime industry, working across commercial shipping, classification, offshore, cruise ships and superyachts.

I started out as a Classification Society surveyor, overseeing the construction of LNG carriers, offshore vessels and cruise ships. That gave me a very technical foundation and took me around the world, including long periods living and working in China, South Korea and the UAE.

I later moved into the superyacht world in Monaco, where my work has covered compliance, crewing, DPA/CSO responsibilities and fleet operations. Today I lead Y.CO’s Fleet Operations team, supporting captains, crews and our shore teams when operational or regulatory situations get complicated.

What I enjoy about fleet operations is being close to the reality of what’s happening onboard. Captains and crews need support that is practical, responsive and grounded in the real world, and that’s the approach I try to bring every day.

Beyond Yachting

I’ve spent a lot of my career moving around the world, so travel has become a pretty big part of who I am. China, South Korea, the UAE – each place gave me a completely different way of looking at things, and I still love that feeling of arriving somewhere unfamiliar and working it out as you go.

Outside work, I like to keep moving. Running, gym, calisthenics, being outdoors – anything that gets me away from a desk and doing something physical. I’m also enjoying being back home in France with my family after many years living and working abroad.

WHAT KIND OF PROBLEM DO YOU MOST ENJOY SOLVING?

The ones where there isn’t an obvious answer.

Yachting often brings together operational realities, regulations, people and client expectations, and they don’t always point in the same direction. I enjoy understanding the problem, bringing the right people together and finding a solution that works in practice.

WHAT’S ONE PLACE YOU’D RETURN TO TOMORROW?

South Korea.

I loved the food, the energy, the people and the atmosphere. It’s one of those places I’d happily go back to tomorrow.

WHAT HAS EXPERIENCE TAUGHT YOU TO SPOT EARLY?

Small issues that have the potential to become big ones.

Whether it’s operational, regulatory or crew-related, dealing with it early is almost always easier. Good communication between the yacht and shore team is a big part of that.

WHAT’S SOMETHING PEOPLE ARE USUALLY SURPRISED TO LEARN ABOUT YOU?

That my wife and I have been together for more than 20 years.

We’ve shared a lot of adventures and moves around the world along the way, and I don’t think I would have achieved what I have without her support.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR ROLE?

The variety and the people.

No two yachts or situations are exactly the same. I enjoy working with captains, crews and colleagues from very different backgrounds, and being close enough to the operation to help solve real problems and support teams both onboard and ashore.
