Ben Wakeley

My Story

I’ve spent most of my life on or near the water. I grew up in Dorset and spent most of my summers in North Cornwall, where my interest in the sea really took shape. Through my school holidays I worked at a waterski school and skippered boats for sea life safaris. During this time, I also volunteered as a crew member with Rock RNLI, taking part in training and callouts to help keep people safe at sea.

I later worked on a shellfish farm operating a dredger, cultivating mussels and oysters. From there I moved into yachting starting at sea and earning my Yachtmaster Offshore before transitioning into a shore-based role in the charter sector.

Outside of work, I’m usually in the water: waterskiing, surfing, wakesurfing, and anything else that keeps me close to the coast.
