After a successful start working with legendary yacht designer Jon Bannenberg, Tim Heywood launched his own studio in 1996. Since then he has dreamed up some of the most iconic vessels on the water, including the hugely successful Amels Limited Editions range, now in six sizes from 180-272. Known for his flowing, graceful lines and timeless designs, Tim Heywood cites his style inspiration as nature, architecture, engineering and transportation from contemporary and deco to ancient Egyptian. Tim won the International Superyacht Society (ISS) Leadership Award in 2015.

Harmonisation From Bow To Stern
“I like to design the exterior so that it’s a complete harmonisation of lines from the bow to the stern,” says Tim. "The designer’s job is, I think, to come up with the original concept and then follow it through and complete every detail – right down to the teak-topped bollards, which is a particular favourite of mine, to whether the surround of the anchor recess has a radius corner or a sharp corner. I still work all the hours under the sun to create all the details and supervise the build. But I still love what I do.”
